Denney Hall Room Calendars
These calendars reflect events, meetings and classes taking place in a number of departmentally managed rooms in Denney Hall. If you would like to reserve one of these rooms for an event or meeting, please check the corresponding calendar first to see if your desired time is available:
Calendars:
311 Denney Hall
419 Denney Hall
436 Denney Hall “The Jane Austen Room”
447 Denney Hall
556 Denney Hall "The Toni Morrison Room"
The department is piloting a shared-office-space model. The goals of the transition are to apply learnings from how our work changed during the pandemic and to decongest high-density shared office (e.g. associated faculty/lecturers) so that we have an equitable distribution of our limited space. As part of the pilot, we’re making available additional space if a more private setting is needed for 1-on-1 student consultations, etc.
Calendars:
512 Denney Hall “The Chaucer Room”
557 Denney Hall “The Sean O’Sullivan Room”
Reservation Process:
The reservation process applies to both the meeting rooms and shared office spaces. If your desired time is available, you also now have access to reserve these rooms directly in Outlook. This IT Service Desk article details the process, but you simply add the room name (examples listed below) in the attendees field when adding the event to your Outlook calendar. You should receive an automated approval email to confirm your reservation.
- +ASC 311 Denney Hall
- +ASC 419 Denney Hall
- +ASC 447 Denney Hall
Reservation Restrictions:
- Priority scheduling is given to Department of English sponsored events.
- Non-departmental room reservation requests must be submitted to english@osu.edu. Reservation requests will be reviewed and approved on an ad hoc basis. Recurring meetings will not be approved.
- Department administration may move a meeting to smaller room if one is available that will meet the needs of the reservation request.
Please do not submit reservations before the following dates. These are the approximate dates when the Registrar publishes each semester’s schedule of classes. Waiting to reserve rooms until the following dates allows priority scheduling for our classes (e.g. graduate seminars).
- Autumn Semester – February 1
- Spring Semester – September 1
- Summer Semester – February 1
If you encounter problems with this process or you happen to be in Denney and want to reserve a space before you’re back at your computer, our front desk staff will continue to assist you with reservations.
Room Capacities:
- 311 Denney Hall – 65
- 419 Denney Hall – 12
- 447 Denney Hall – 12
