ADVISING SUBJECTS
If you have transfer credits that need further evaluation, please email Elizabeth Falter at falter.44@osu.edu. Your email should contain your full name, your 9-digit BuckID number, the courses you would like evaluated and the institution(s) where you completed these course(s). Please attach syllabi for the courses and a PDF copy of your transfer credit report.
Please allow ten days for transfer credits to be evaluated. If you do not include all of the information listed above, your evaluation will be delayed.
- Students who take the Advanced Placement exam in English literature or English language and who score a 3 or higher will receive test credit (EM credit) for English 1110, the university's first-year writing course.
- Students who take both the English Literature and the English Language exams and score a 3 or higher on these two exams will receive credit for English 1110, the first-year writing course and English 1167, a course that can be applied toward the Cultures and Ideas category on the university's general education requirements.
- Students who score a 4 or higher on the “Higher Level (HL)” International Baccalaureate English A: Language and Literature Exam will receive test credit (EM credit) for English 1110, the university’s first-year writing course and English 1167H, a course that can be applied toward the Cultures and Ideas category on the university's general education requirements.
- Students who score a 4 or higher on the “Higher Level (HL)” International Baccalaureate English A: Literature Exam will receive test credit (EM credit) for English 1110, the university’s first-year writing course and English 2220.
