The Department of English would like to congratulate Undergraduate Studies Program Manager, Katie Stanutz, on receiving the College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Staff Award. This award recognizes staff members who have “demonstrated sustained excellence in overall job performance and have improved or enhanced work life and services of faculty, staff, students and/or the university.”

Stanutz, who first came to Ohio State three years ago, says she is honored to receive the award. “I love the work that I do supporting humanities education and to have that be acknowledged by ASC is incredibly meaningful to me,” she says. She also praised fellow award winners, stating, “The current and past recipients of this award are some of the most service-oriented, excellent professionals I know: I can’t believe that I’m in their company.”

Stanutz was nominated for the award by Professors Robyn Warhol and Karen Winstead. In her nomination letter for Stanutz, Warhol said, “Katie has had a dramatically positive impact on the culture of the department and the college…she is a strong ambassador not only for the department, but the College, as she is educating prospective students and parents on the value of the liberal arts to a wide range of professions.” Winstead praised Stanutz for her role in piloting workshops with ASC Career Success, including “Resume Writing” and “Keep Calm and Get a Job.” She has said, “As Program Manager, Katie has been an eloquent ambassador of the College in student recruitment activities, an advocate for and visionary leader of the staff she supervises and a champion of the interests of our undergraduate students.”

Congratulations again to Katie Stanutz on this achievement!
