Natalie Kopp is a PhD candidate in Writing, Rhetoric and Literacy. Her dissertation explores nonfiction storytelling ethics and depictions of community and identity in student digital documentary shorts. Recent courses Natalie has taught at OSU have explored digital storytelling, narratives of the Midwest, and community engagement. Natalie is currently the Graduate Student Writing Program Administrator for the Second Year Writing Program and previously worked for three years as Associate Director of the Digital Media and Composition (DMAC) Institute.
Before graduate school, Natalie worked in Columbus as a higher education editor, community college writing consultant, and coordinator of a community college mentorship program for Pell-eligible and first-generation students. She cares about creating spaces in Columbus for writing, reading and learning inside and outside of the traditional classroom.
