Professor and Undergraduate Launch Collaborative Podcast: Sinister Myth

Swirling black and white pattern

Zoe Brigley Thompson, Assistant Professor of English at Ohio State, and fourth-year student Brendan Walsh have recently collaborated to launch a new podcast titled Sinister Myth. The podcast examines harmful cultural mythologies in the West concerned with sex and sexuality, spanning topics such as sex work, race within the LGBTQIA+ community, sex education, and the linguistics of white supremacy. Often, these “sinister myths” are responsible for perpetuating violence against marginalized individuals, particularly women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The first episode of Sinister Myth is now available to stream. It features an interview with Erin Upchurch, director of Kaleidoscope, a community/drop-in center that provides a space of safety, belonging and support for LGBTQIA+ youth. Listen to this episode on Stitcher or Apple Podcasts.
