Aldama Named Outstanding Latino Faculty in Higher Education

The American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) has announced that Ohio State English Professor Frederick Aldama will receive the Outstanding Latino/a Faculty in Higher Education: Research/Teaching in Higher Education (Research Institutions) Award at the 11th AAHHE National Conference Awards Breakfast in March 2016. According to the AAHHE, this award "recognizes an individual who has demonstrated excellence in both research and teaching and has provided significant contributions to his/her academic discipline."

Aldama is an Ohio State Arts and Humanities Distinguished Professor and the founder and director of LASER (Latino and Latin American Space for Enrichment and Research), a program that seeks to create a total mentoring system for Latinos beginning in high school and continuing through the graduate level.
