New English department slogans announced

Black, white and red illustration

Last semester, the Department of English held a slogan contest for new English-themed sayings to put on promotional items. We received hundreds of clever, funny, and all-around delightful suggestions, and narrowing them down was agonizingly difficult. We're thrilled to announce the winners:

  • “Stay true to your shelf” (suggested by Olivia Huddleston, English major)
  • “Booked on a Feeling” (suggested by Michael Caruso, Communication major and English minor)
  • “Nuts about English” (suggested by Kristin Supe, Lecturer II in Psychology)
  • “We prefer our puns intended” (suggested by Olivia Huddleston, English major, and Sarah Bon, Biology major and Medical Humanities minor)
  • “Oxford Comma Enthusiast” (suggested by Jenna Kokish, English major, and Olivia Rhodehamel, English major)

Thanks to all for their outstanding submissions, and congratulations to the winners! Keep an eye out for our new slogans on social media and elsewhere around the department.
