The Department of English would like to congratulate Leslie Lockett and Koritha Mitchell on receiving residency fellowships at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study (NDIAS).

The NDIAS is dedicated to fostering and supporting integrative scholarship addressing ultimate questions at the intersection of the arts, engineering, humanities, law, and natural, physical, and social sciences, especially those which transcend disciplinary boundaries.

Koritha will spend two semesters at the Institute, working on her book project “From Slave Cabins to the White House: Homemaking Anxiety in African American Culture.” The fellowship will give Leslie time next spring to focus on her book-length study of the Old English Soliloquies.
