Harvey Graff Recognized By National Humanities Center

This year has been marked by a series of honors – both national and international – for Harvey Graff, Ohio Eminent Scholar in Literacy Studiesand Professor of English and History.  He has been named a Fellow of the National Humanities Center, Research Triangle, NC, and a Fellow of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, for 2013-2014. He will spend the year at the National Humanities Center writing a social history of interdisciplinarity.

In addition, Professor Graff has been invited to join the Scientific Committee for Brazilian Congress on Literacy and the International Seminar on the History of Teaching Reading and Writing, 2013, and was invited to present a keynote address at IV Colóquio Internacional Letramento e Cultura Escrita (4th International Conference of Literacy and Written Culture), in Brazil, Federal University of Minas Gerais, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, August 2014. He was also invited to speak at the Federal Fluminense University, at Rio de Janeiro.
