Alumna Appointed Associate Provost at Kenyon College

Ivonne M. García, who holds a masters and a Ph.D. in English from The Ohio State University, was recently appointed Associate Provost of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Kenyon College. Ivonne arrived at Kenyon as a Preparing Future Faculty Fellow from OSU in 2006, received Kenyon's Marilyn Yarbrough Dissertation Fellowship in 2007, and became a tenure-track professor of English in 2008. In 2011, she was awarded the Kenyon College Board of Trustees Teaching Excellence Award and a one-year research fellowship for teaching excellence. In 2012, she was a founding member of the Latin@ Studies Concentration at Kenyon. She received tenure in 2013. While at the OSU Department of English, Ivonne worked at the Grad Studies Office and as a Writing Program Associate in the First-Year Writing Program. Also at OSU, she served in the Hispanic Oversight Committee, the English Graduate Organization, and the Council of Graduate Students, and in the committee that drafted the proposal for Latin@ Studies at OSU.
