The Minor in Professional Writing Portfolio Prep Workshop helps MPW students begin building their application portfolios to apply for the capstone professional writing internship. In this session, you'll read example portfolios, learn how to craft an appropriate cover letter for the program, consider resume guidelines, and get guidance on choosing the best 3 writing samples for your writing portfolio. The event is open to undergraduate interested in pursuing a Minor in Professional Writing, though it will be targeted at those who are eligible to apply for the capstone internship (those who have taken or are currently enrolled in English 4150: Cultures of Professional Writing). If you cannot make the event for the full time 5-7 p.m., we encourage you to arrive when you can. The second workshop on Jan. 25 will be identical, and you can supplement by attending parts of both workshops, or you can look at materials online after.
