We know that the job search can be stressful, so to help you through it, the Department of English and ASC Career Success are teaming up to bring you "Keep Calm and Get a Job!" This event is geared to help English majors and minors both prepare for your job search, and keep calm as you make your way through it.
The event is informal, so feel free to drop in any time between 4 and 6 pm--no need to come right at the start, or stay the whole time!
For the “Get a Job” portion of the event, we’ll feature different career help stations, including:
- How do I write a resume? (If you have a resume, feel free to bring it for feedback, and if you don't, we can help you get started on one!)
- How do I even start a job search?
- How do I tell my "skills story"?
- How do I keep my job search organized?
Career coaches from ASC Career Success will be on hand at each station to offer helpful information and advice!
And, to help you "Keep Calm," we'll have:
- Coloring and crafts
- Snacks
- Additional campus resources--more information on these coming soon!
