Faculty and Student Reading: Andrew Hudgins, David Yee, Samantha Tucker, Tanya Bomsta, and Daniel O'Brien

We are pleased to announce that Ohio State Professor of English Andrew Hudgins and MFA students David Yee, Samantha Tucker, Tanya Bomsta and Daniel O'Brien will give a reading on Tuesday, November 10th, at 7:30 PM, in 165 Thompson Library. This event is free and open to the public.

Andrew Hudgins is the author of many books including Ecstatic in the Poison: New Poems, Shut Up You’re Fine: Poems for Very, Very Bad Children, and American Rendering: New and Selected Poems. Hudgins's honors include the Hanes Poetry Prize and the Witter Bynner Award for Poetry. In addition, he is the recipient of fellowships from the Ingram Merrill Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference.

Samantha Tucker has blogged for Brevity and Colorado Review and served as the theatre/culture critic for Show Business Weekly and Springs Magazine. She is currently finishing her first collection of essays, The American Dream Starts Here.

Tanya Bomsta received her MA from Marshall University in 2013. Her work has been featured in The Gettysburg Review; The Florida Review; december, an anthology of Appalachian writing; and other venues.

Daniel O'Brien is Associate Poetry Editor for The Journal and the 2014-15 recipient of the Ohio State Department of English's Helen Earnhart Harley Creative Writing Fellowhip in Poetry. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in BLOOM, The Boiler, Prelude, Sequestrum, SCOUT, Susquehanna Review, and elsewhere.
