Join us for a roundtable discussion about the recently rediscovered Ohio poet Sarah Morgan Bryan Piatt (1836-1919). Experts Dr. Larry R. Michaels, Sean E. Andres, and OSU English Professor Elizabeth Renker will discuss Piatt’s celebrity status during her lifetime, her fall into obscurity after death, and the work of recovering a poet whose writing is worthy of canonical status today.
This event is sponsored by the Rare Books and Manuscripts Library, which houses the best collection of unique and rare materials in the world for studying Piatt and supports Piatt scholarship through a variety of innovative, open-access digital projects.
