Ben Markey researches technical and professional writing using quantitative methods drawn from corpus linguistics, statistics, and machine learning. Of late, this work involves building corpora to explore the subtle linguistic and rhetorical distinctions between AI and human texts, in the hopes that findings can inform writing pedagogy and curriculum design.
