Yifan Kong's main areas of interest are modern and contemporary literature, narrative theory, intermedial aesthetics, and visual culture. Yifan is primarily interested in the function of ekphrasis in modern and contemporary literature, and is keen to consider a range of fictional narratives that complicate the medial boundary between the verbal and visual arts.
