Candidates were selected based on their creative teaching and for exemplary records of engaging, motivating, and inspiring students. The award comes with a one-time $10,000 payment to the faculty member and the establishment of a $10,000 teaching support account for the winner to draw on. The Ratners are expected to present a plaque to Elizabeth at the Arts and Humanities Faculty Recognition event on Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 4:00-6:00PM at the Blackwell Inn.
This is the third faculty member in our department to receive one of the Arts and Humanities Awards for 2013-14, alongside Lynn Itagaki and the third to be announced at the reception on October 28th. Please consider attending the reception to support all our winners as well as those whose recent books and journals will be on display.
