2021 Disability Studies Pedagogy Workshop

The Disability Studies Program and Department of English will offer the 2021 Disability Studies Pedagogy Workshop led by Dr. Margaret Price and Dr. Jessie Male. Completion of this workshop counts for graduate-workshop credit, and also serves as one of the qualifications for teaching ENG 2277 (Introduction to Disability Studies) or ENG 2367.06 (Second-Year Writing / Disability Studies). Topics will include “Syllabus Accessibility Statements”; “Disability Language”; “Teaching Disability Representation”; and “Beyond the Social Model.” Workshop time will be dedicated to discussion of pedagogical methods that comprise or enhance a DS approach in the classroom. 

Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to participate in this innovative workshop that will provide vital professional and intellectual training.  Participants should register for the workshop at this link.
