Whether encountering Associate Professor Margaret Price as a student in one of her English or disability studies courses or around Denney Hall where she is frequently spotted with her dog, Ivy—it is equally likely that she will brighten your day.

Price’s uniquely positive impact on those around her has recently earned her induction into the Susan M. Daniels Disability Mentoring Hall of Fame, established by the National Disability Mentoring Coalition. Price is one of just twenty-five individuals to be nominated by their peers for demonstrating outstanding dedication to mentoring and for their impact on the lives of youth and adults with disabilities.

This honor follows Price’s co-authoring of the nationally-recognized study “Disclosure of Mental Disability by College and University Faculty: The Negotiation of Accommodations, Supports and Barriers,” which is the first-ever cross-institutional study of its kind that seeks to fill a major gap in the research on faculty members with mental disabilities. More of Price’s research regarding mental health in higher education can be found in her book, Mad at School: Rhetorics of Mental Disability and Academic Life
