Jacob Scheier-Schwartz

Jacob Scheier is a poet and nonfiction writer from Toronto. He has published two full-length poetry collections with ECW Press: Letter From Brooklyn (2013) and the Governor General’s Award winning More to Keep us Warm (2007). He is also the author of the nonfiction ebook My Never Ending Acid Trip, published by The Toronto Star. Scheier is the co-winner of New York Community Media Alliance award for best feature article (“The Anti-Bloomberg: Can I Get an Amen?” The Indypendent, August 2009: 6-7. Co-written with John Tarleton) and has been nominated for Canadian National Magazine Award for his poem “Jumbo Elegy” (Vallum 11, 2014) and longlisted for a CBC Poetry Prize. His poems have been published throughout North America and in England and his personal essay “The Rabbi” appeared in a recent issue of the international literary nonfiction journal Brick.
