Alison is a doctoral student in the Department of English. She works broadly on twentieth- and twenty-first-century American literature and, more specifically, on narrative medicine, comics studies and narrative theory. Her current research interests include representations of disease and illness (specifically mental illness) in graphic memoirs; multimodal texts; and cultural narratology.
