Elana Marcus is a fiction writer who’s kind of from New York and kind of from Florida. She writes about things like cheese, pickleball, sex robots, Jewish grandmas, and tampons in a way that might make you laugh and/or cry. She recently returned from a three-year stint as an English teacher in Budapest, Hungary. Before that, she earned her B.A. in creative writing and playwriting/screenwriting from SUNY Purchase, where she received the Ginny Wray Prize in Fiction and the Ginny Wray Senior Prize in Fiction. She has worked for several literary journals including The Hudson Review, Italics Mine, and Submissions Magazine. She also founded her own literary magazine called Horseheads. Her writing has appeared in The Westchester Review and on the podcast Short Story Today.
