Marie Franco

PhD Student


Marie Franco is a PhD candidate with an interdisciplinary specialization in sexuality studies. Her work focuses on post-1945 American fiction and queer theory, with a particular emphasis on representations of stigmatized sexual practice. Her dissertation studies violence, sexuality and narrative in postmodern American fiction and queer erotica, exploring the relationship between postmodern and erotic literatures and queer sexual subcultures. Her article, “Queer Postmodern Practices: Sex and Narrative in Gravity’s Rainbow,” is forthcoming in Twentieth-Century Literature.
