Richard Firth Green elected Fellow of Medieval Academy of America

The Department of English would like to congratulate Professor Emeritus Richard Firth Green on being elected a Fellow of the Medieval Academy of America.

Fellowship is granted to those that have made lifelong contributions to medieval studies through their scholarship, teaching and service. It is the highest honor the Academy can bestow on North American medievalist. The Academy promotes excellence in the field of medieval studies and is open to all scholars engaged with the Middle Ages from diverse fields and institutions. Their goal is to foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and academic freedom for all medievalists.

Green has authored numerous articles in journals such as Speculum, Medium Aevum, Chaucer Review and Studies in the Age of Chaucer. He has also published books: A Crisis of Truth: Literature and Law in Ricardian England (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2002) and Poets and Princepleasers: Literature and the English Court in the Late Middle Ages(University of Toronto Press, 1979).
