Narrative theory by Herman, Phelan, Warhol

The Ohio State University Press has announced that Narrative Theory: Core Concepts and Critical Debates is one of five of its publications to be named Choice Outstanding Academic Titles of 2012.

The volume, which English Department Professors David Herman, James Phelan and Robyn Warhol co-authored with Peter J. Rabinowitz, of Hamilton College, and Brian Richardson, of the University of Maryland, addresses two frequently asked questions about narrative studies: “what is narrative theory?” and “how do different approaches to narrative relate to each other?” In engaging with these questions, the book demonstrates the diversity and vitality of the field and promotes a broader dialogue about its assumptions, methods, and purposes.
