On Monday, September 11, 2017, the Department of English hosted representatives from the Folger Shakespeare Institute and the University of Sheffield. Each program outlined its key features and encouraged Ohio State faculty and graduate students to reach out and get involved.

The Folger Institute underscored its growing database of Early Modern and pre-1800s resources, such as online transcripts of sixteenth-century publications. Director for Scholarly Programs at the Folger Institute Owen Williams presented the vast amount of information and resources that Folger has to offer. Williams highlighted that Folger exists namely to help scholars do their research with a massive breadth of scholarly information.

The University of Sheffield will be engaging in a future graduate student exchange program with the Ohio State Department of English. The two universities are currently working to establish a longer-term exchange of faculty and students. One can learn more about this exciting new opportunity by visiting the Sheffield Department of English webpage or contacting one of the Sheffield visitors, Ashley Bullen-Cutting (ajbullen-cutting1@sheffield.ac.uk) or Rebecca Sandeman (resandeman1@sheffield.ac.uk).
