Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. All Day
311 Denney

We are pleased to announce that LiteracyStudies@OSU will host Anne Haas Dyson on Thursday, January 14th, at 4:00 PM, in 311 Denney. Dyson will deliver a lectured titled "Writing as Textual Playground: Symbolic Play, Transmediation, and Children's Textual Worlds." This event is free and open to the public.

Dyson is Professor of English and Education at the University of Illinois. Dyson aims, first, to bring respect and intellectual attention to childhood cultures and their relationship to school learning. Second, she aims to document the diversity of resources (languages, popular culture texts, semiotic tools, everyday experiences) our diverse school children bring with them with which to participate intellectually and socially in school, especially in written language development.
