This informal event (no presentations, come and go as you please) will focus on both career readiness and on wellness. For the “Get a Job” aspect, we’ll feature different career-help “stations,” each geared to assist you in a different part of the job search process: How to Begin Job Searching Personal Branding and Online Presence Resume Tips and Reviews Salary Negotiation ASC Career Success staff and peer volunteers will be on hand to offer helpful information and to give you advice. We’ll also host an alumna of the English B.A. program, Rose Buoni, at the Personal Branding station. Rose is a 2013 graduate of The Ohio State University's English Department. After graduation, Rose worked in Marketing and Advertising and later began her career as a Graphic Designer for The Ohio State University. Rose has learned in her career that efforts to develop a personal brand tend to make a candidate more memorable and ultimately more hireable.  How to “Keep Calm” is also an important part of this event, and we’ll have a Wellness station, run by Ohio State English minor alumna Megan Trapp. Megan is a Reiki Master Practitioner in Columbus, OH. She says, “Reiki has empowered me to make lifestyle changes that incorporate positive energy and rid myself of anything not serving my greatest goodness. Reiki was the spark that ignited my interest in other beneficial habits, such as increased meditation, yoga, compassionate care, spirituality, running my first half marathon, and a mindful eating.” Through achieving her Reiki certifications, Megan is now hoping to spread this light to others in hopes that they see the benefits as well. We’ll also have an area to just chill out with some adult coloring books. Pizza, etc. will be served. All English majors and minors are welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please contact Katie Stanutz (.3). 311 Denney Hall America/New_York public
