Children's Literacies
The GradSem includes students at every stage of study from across the University who meet monthly for lunch and a student-organized program and discussion. The meeting on March 3 is about children and literacy. What do children learn when they learn to read and write? Where do they learn, when, and from whom? This session considers the literacy processes and practices, expectations and outcomes in children’s homes, communities, and classrooms.Participation in the GradSem is open to all students with an interest in literacy and its study.
