Jess Rafalko's fiction and non-fiction explore the repurcussions of trauma as experienced in domestic life (with occasional appearances by squirrels, bears and talking dogs). At Ohio State, she teaches first-year composition and courses in fiction-writing at both the introductory and intermediate levels. She has also taught ESL writing to Saudi students at her alma mater, King's College, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Her academic interests include narrative theory, trauma studies and American and British literature from World War II to the present.
