Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Madison Durham, a third-year English major and front desk assistant in the Ohio State Department of English, spent the fall of 2015 working as an editorial intern with UWeekly, a magazine aimed at the university's student community and managed by the Columbus-based 614 Media Group. As an intern, Madison honed her digital design skills and gained significant insight into the publishing process. “I had a great time learning about the process of developing a magazine from concept to print, and eventually became involved with coming up with themes and story ideas for upcoming issues,” Madison said regarding her experiences. Because of her excellent performance as an intern, Madison was invited to join 614’s new magazine, 1870 Magazine, as a writer. This new magazine reaches more than 40,000 readers each month.
