SEBASTIAN D. G. KNOWLES, Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty and Research. (Ph.D., Princeton University) Twentieth-century literature. Author, A Purgatorial Flame: Seven British Writers in the Second World War (1990) and The Dublin Helix: The Life of Language in Joyce's Ulysses (2001), awarded the Michael J. Durkan Prize in 2001. Co-author, An Annotated Bibliography of a Decade of T.S. Eliot Criticism, 1977-1986 (1992); editor, Bronze by Gold: The Music of Joyce (1999), Joyce in Trieste: An Album of Risky Readings (2007).
