He is the author of Hum (2013), winner of the Beatrice Hawley Award, and two poetry chapbooks (The God Engine and The Whetting of Teeth). A graduate of Warren Wilson's MFA program for writers, Jamaal teaches in the Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA program.Jamaal will conduct a weekend-long poetry workshop for OSU creative writing MFA students.  He will also perform a reading of his work on Friday, January 16 at 7pm in the OSU Barnes and Noble (1598 N.
