Evan Van Tassell is an MA/PhD student studying narrative theory, contemporary literature and issues of intertextuality. His research has focused on trans- and intermedial literature, graphic narrative, digital media and cognitive approaches to narratology. Van Tassell’s current work explores applications of critical methods and models across media, the potential of decontextualizing devices for offering new insights into both canonical and contemporary works and how the specific attributes of hybrid and emerging media (including comics, experimental visual novels and interactive texts) shape narrative possibilities.
