Caitlyn McLoughlin

PhD in English Candidate

Caitlyn McLoughlin is pursuing her PhD in English literature. Her research focuses on high and late-medieval European literature, with particular interest in writings by and/or about religious women. Her dissertation will examine narratives of medieval holy women, considering specifically, the relationship between community, sexuality and devotional practice. Foregrounding this multiplicity of (often queer) religious experience tied inherently to sexuality and community will work to expand current understandings of female-focused hagiography and other religious texts.
