David Grandouiller is a first-year MFA student specializing in creative nonfiction, and an associate fiction editor for The Journal. He is interested in writing and reading work that expands or challenges popular conceptions of truth in nonfiction, and he is experimenting with the use of elements such as myth, magical realism, speculation, metaphor, surrealism, hyperbole, and other techniques that work to radically alter a reader’s perception of reality.
