Kris Edwards is a lawyer, writer and teacher. She has served as Executive Director of the Hudson Valley Writers Center, as Literary Manager of the Lark Theatre Company and as a Visiting Artist in New York City Public Schools. For five years she was the Visiting Artist in residence at Chrysalis, an alternative public school in Taos, New Mexico. She spent two summers working with David Kranes at the Sundance Playwrights Lab in Sundance, Utah, was a features writer for the Mountain Times in Salt Lake City, and a columnist for the Taos News. Her nonfiction articles address environmental issues, particularly wilderness preservation and she has worked for the Hudson Riverkeeper and the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance.
