Front desk staff
Edwards returns to the department in her new role on the Front Desk Staff. Edwards previously worked as the Student Assistant for the MFA program.
Werner returns to the department in her new role on the Front Desk Staff, having formerly worked as an assistant to HR/Fiscal Associate Tracee Mohler and Student Assistant to the Chair. She is an English major concentrating on creative writing.
English Academic Advisor
Nadia Barksdale has advised for the College of Arts and Sciences for over two years. In her previous role, she advised students majoring in African American and African studies; classics; philosophy; philosophy, politics, and economics; and women's, gender and sexuality studies. As a first-generation college student, Nadia graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing, and with a Master of Arts in Literature.
Assistant to the Chair and Creative Writing Program
Megan Lemming is the new Assistant to the Chair and Assistant to the Creative Writing Program. Lemming provides administrative support for the Chair and is responsible for all aspects of the MFA and MedMA programs' coordination and admissions.
Undergraduate Program Manager
Katie Stanutz comes to us from the University of Maryland where she is the Assistant Director for University Honors. She earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of Maryland. In her role as Program Manager, Stanutz will manage the day-to-day operations of the Undergraduate Studies Program, including supervision of our advising and front desk staff and leading our undergraduate student recruitment and career advising initiatives.
