Department Welcomes New Hires

The Department of English would like to welcome its new faculty and staff for autumn 2017: Linsday Martin, Susan Lang, Elissa Washuta and Jamison Kantor

Lindsay Martin is the coordinator of the professional writing minor; Martin is an English alumna and returns to the department from a position at The Ohio State University Press.

Susan Lang is the director of the Center for the Study of Teaching and Writing and joins us from Texas Tech, where she was a professor of English and director of the First-Year Writing Program.

Elissa Washuta is the newest member of the creative writing faculty, specializing in nonfiction. Washuta joins us from the Institute of American Indian Arts, where she was a nonfiction faculty member in the MFA program, and from the Department of American Indian Studies at the University of Washington, where she was an undergraduate advisor.

Jamison Kantor is an assistant professor on the Mansfield campus whose areas of research include British Romanticism, political theory, economics and aesthetics and technology and literature. Kantor joins the Department of English from Colby College in Maine, where he was a visiting assistant professor, and from Georgetown University, where he was a lecturer.
