On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, the Department of English will host an informational open house to showcase its new interdisciplinary MA in Medical Humanities and Social Sciences. The MA in Medical Humanities and Social Sciences provides transformational insights into illness and treatment, death and dying, doctor-patient relationships and the institutions, practices and cultural discourses of medicine.
Students, faculty and advising staff alike are all invited to come learn more about this innovative program which is currently accepting applications for its first cohort in autumn 2018. Program Director Jim Phelan will lead the session. Phelan is a Distinguished University Professor of English, a world-renowned scholar in the field of narrative and narrative theory, and the director of Project Narrative. Program faculty and current English graduate students will also be available to answer questions about the program structure, course offerings, job opportunities for graduates, the application process and cost.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to express their interest via our RSVP webform. If you would like to attend but cannot, please fill out the webform, and a member of the program will reach out to you.
