Resources: Internship Opportunities for English Majors
English 689: A new internships course is now available to students who wish to acquire workplace experience requiring writing, editing, and/or research; projects are student-initiated; permission of Dr. Sharyn Talbert is required; a maximum of 5 credit hours counts toward completion of English major.If you’re interested in participating in a university sponsored internship, check out the Ohio State University Career Navigator or the ASC Career Services Center Career Services, or, visit the ASC CSC located in 48 Townshend Hall, 1885 Neil Avenue.
Internships can help students gain career experience while they complete their studies, and there are a great number of interning opportunities available through Ohio State. In addition to sampling different jobs, making contacts and earning money, when participating in an internship you can receive academic credit for your work by enrolling in Arts and Sciences 489.01. Forms for enrolling in this class and information about who is eligible can be found in the Career Services internships Web pages, or you can buy a hard copy of the internship guidebook in 60 Bricker Hall.
