Program
- A six-week Study Abroad Program at the University of Greenwich, England, from early July through mid-August, 2010.
- Students earn 15 hours of OSU credit, including 5 hours of individual studies (English 693). The other 10 hours are for a course taught by Greenwich faculty on "The Literature of London." This course stretches from Renaissance representations of the city to post-modern texts about multi-cultural London. Students will have some flexibility in determining which OSU English courses these 10 hours are converted into.
- As part of their course work, students attend theatrical productions, visit art galleries and museums, and take specially designed walks around literary and historical London.
- Four miles southeast of central London on the River Thames, bustling Greenwich is home to a host of attractions, including the National Maritime Museum, one of London’s finest Royal Parks, and the 17th Century Old Royal Observatory.
- The Greenwich campus—once home to a Tudor royal palace—is a World Heritage Site featuring three baroque buildings designed in the 17th century by Sir Christopher Wren.
- Each student will have their own single-study bedroom with bath, mini-fridge, and Internet access in the new McMillan Student Village. Participants will have full access to the state-of-the-art Dreadnought Library, computing, student union, cafes, and recreation facilities. In the evenings, students can enjoy the leisure center, cinema, theatres, comedy clubs, and restaurants.
