Graduate Technical Associate
One position at 25% for 3 quarters (Au/Wi/Sp); possible 25% position for summer. Troubleshoots basic hardware, software, and network problems for the Department and the Digital Media Project. Qualifications: knowledge of Windows and Mac platforms, including operating systems and software (XP/OSX, Office, Macromedia Dreamweaver, email clients); experience with basic web upgrade and maintenance; ability to consult effectively with clients; Department/DMP liaison with OIT and HIS. One position at 25% for 3 quarters (Au/Wi/Sp).Duties entail working with Dr. Richard Selfe to promote, manage, and gather assessment data on the HIS Student Technology Consultant (STC) program, which provides one-on-one or small group support for CoH teachers who are integrating appropriate technologies into their classes. The program also provides the STC opportunities to meet, observe, and support creative teachers and to work with self-motivated undergraduate STCs. More information at http://osu-ste.wikispaces.com.
Interest in instructional technology required; extensive technical expertise valued but not necessary, as training will be provided. Applicants should be highly organized and have the ability to communicate with a range of people, listen carefully, and work independently as well as in collaboration with faculty, teaching staff, and graduate students from across the College of Humanities.
