Advising: Conferences
The Department of English is able to fund up to $300 for graduate students presenting a paper at an academic conference. The Department also helps fund travel expenses to the MLA for students on the job market.Any reimbursement for conference expenses must be pre-approved by the Chair of the Department of English. To request approval and reimbursement for travel, submit the Graduate Student Conference Funding Request form [PDF] (available online, by the mailboxes in Denney 421, or in the Graduate Studies office, 425 Denney) to Valerie Lee, the Chair of the Department of English, who will then pass it on to Lynne Berry for processing.
Other possible sources of funding for travel, include the MLA Travel Grant, the Council for Graduate Students Ray Travel Award for Scholarship and Service and the College of Humanities Graduate Student Research Grant.
