The Journal

Submission Guidelines

Established in 1972, The Journal is the nationally distributed, prize-winning literary journal of the Ohio State University. We publish the highest quality fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and reviews (of new books of poetry) by both emerging and established authors.

Our taste is eclectic; excellence is our only criterion. Work published in The Journal has been awarded the prestigious Pushcart Prize and has been noted in the Best American series. We have published such diverse authors as Brenda Hillman, Carole Maso, Carl Phillips, Erin Belieu, T.R. Pearson, Dionisio Martinez, Cornelia Nixon, John D'Agata, Barbara Hamby, Mary Grimm, Lia Purpura, Kay Ryan, and Pinckney Benedict.

Established: 1972
