COURSE EVALUATION

Call Number:  Instructor:

Meeting Time:  Quarter/Year:

The purpose of this questionnaire is to enable you to evaluate the course and to make that evaluation known to the instructor and administrators of 367. You are asked to make evaluations of the course as a whole, your work in the course, and the work of the instructor. Please address each subject independently, and as thoroughly and thoughtfully as possible.

  1. How good was the course? (In answering the question, you may want to consider the value of the subject, the comprehensiveness and coherence of the reading and writing assignments, the appropriateness of the subject matter, the method of instruction, the demands the course made of you, the influence other members of the class had on the course as a whole, etc.)

  2. How do you feel differently about yourself as a writer and reader after having taken this course? Are you satisfied with the work you did? (You might want to consider your commitment to the course, your judgment of your written work and your contribution to the class, the degree to which you acquired new knowledge or useful skills, etc.)

  3. Which writing assignments were most thought-provoking for you? Which reading assignments? How did these writing or reading assignments help you to think and write in new ways?

  4. How effective was the instructor? (You might want to consider the instructor’s ability to build rapport with the student, to organize and present information, to run class discussions, to give feedback on rough drafts and final essays and return essays in a timely manner, to maintain office hours, etc.)
