Assistantships with Computers and Composition
Associate Editor, Computers and Composition
Computers and Composition: An International Journal is a joint publication of The Ohio State University (Dr. Cynthia L. Selfe) and the University of Illinois (Dr. Gail E. Hawisher), and the Elsevier Publishing Corporation. Each year, an OSU graduate student is hired (25%) to serve as the Associate Editor of the journal, a position that has proven to provide excellent academic experience and contacts for Ph.D. students. Assistant Editor, Computers and Composition
Graduate students can also work on the editorial staff of
Computers and Composition as Assistant Editors. These positions can be designed around students’ formal course load to carry between 1 and 5 hours of independent study. Serving as an Assistant Editor is not a funded position, but it does provides students excellent editorial experience on an international academic journal. Students serving as Assistant Editors develop an excellent skill set to recommend them for the Associate Editor’s position.
