Collage of Authors studied in Twentieth Century Literature. Twentieth Century Authors
The Department of English has a large group of faculty interested in twentieth-century literature (modern, modernist, and contemporary), language, Film Folklore, folklore, feminist studies, post-colonial studies, and cultural studies. Most of those faculty, like many students at Ohio State, do not limit themselves to one area, but range widely among British, Irish, and other Anglophone countries, in addition, of course, to the United States.

Faculty have published widely in the field. Several of them are also editors of, or on the Editorial Boards of, important journals in it. The International James Joyce Foundation and the Internet discussion list for Virginia Woolf are based at Ohio State University.

  • Voice of the Shuttle -- begun in late 1994, its mission has been to provide a structured and briefly annotated guide to online resources that at once respects the established humanities disciplines in their professional organization and points toward the transformation of those disciplines as they interact with the sciences and social sciences and with new digital media.
