Co-editor of Passing The Word: Writers On Their Mentors. Essays and short stories in Harper's, Ms., Creative Nonfiction, The Georgia Review, Fourth Genre, River Teeth, Story, DoubleTake, The Southern Review, Kenyon Review, Glimmer Train. Winner of the 2006 Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award, the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction, the Nancy Dasher Award, the Glenna Luschei Prize for Literary Distinction, the Lawrence Foundation Award, and fellowships from the NEA and the Ohio Arts Council.
