DMP Welcomes New Assistant Director Amy Spears
Scott Dewitt, director of the DMP, and his staff, are excited to have the opportunity to work with Spears. "It was clear to me, and to the rest of the search committee, I think, that Amy was right for the job because her interview was so energized," Dewitt said. "She brings strong technical and administrative skills to the position that complement her creative abilities. She's a great fit for the DMP. We'll learn a lot from her."
The Digital Media Project welcomed new Assistant Director, Amy Spears, on October 1. Spears replaces former Assistant Director Chad Schone.
Spears graduated from Denison University with majors in English and Cinema. Most recently, Spears worked for the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System where she did user interface design, making Web sites more accessible. Prior to the seven years that Spears worked for OPERS, she worked at the Drexel Theatre in Bexley as a marketing specialist.
Spears' main tasks include managing the mission, goals, and operations of the DMP. Her duties will include: providing technical and pedagogical support to faculty, staff and students; coordinating Media Manager for English; planning and implementing training and professional development workshops; overseeing maintenance of hardware, software, and physical spaces of the DMP; preparing written quarterly reports to the DMP Director; and assisting in supervision and evaluation of DMP staff.
